[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Was assembling some photos for my blog when I came across this species and thought to share this close up with all of you. my recent blog Please feel free to read my blog for more info on this breed. This was taken during one of my afternoon walks in the wetlands of south Florida

Wrote about him before and was tickled my take on him awhile back here on Trek

I will upload another taken when he was feeding in the workshop. Also made a film about this long ago; it was before HD so its a little blurry, nevertheless depicts perfectly how they feed.

Hello Brenda,
A great close-up image of this unique looking Wood Stork. I thought it may have gotten it's name from the way it's head resembles that of an old dried out log, but I didn't find anything on the web to explain how it actually got it's name:)
When you view the entire bird it is actually very beautiful. Thanks for posting both this close-up image and your WS photo.
Ron

Thanks for sharing,

Good portrait Breanda! This picture explains why the bird is named like that. I had a quick look at your blog too and it is interesting.
The picture on your blog (

Hi Brenda

Know of a fish which resembles a rock but this wood stork is just as amazing. Surely there must be some good reason..Also good choice to present a tight portrait, after all its the neck that matters most here.

Hi Brenda,
What a perfect name for this stork. First I've ever seen it. It's just unreal how close its head and beak looks to a piece of wood.
Great image with good details and natural colours. Thanks for sharing this with us.
Regards
Natley
