Cheetah Cub (Acinonyx jubatus)

What a fun day, hunting with these two respected gentlemen. They are in real life just as colorful as the photo’s they take, and every bit as interesting as the notes and comments they post. :) I’ll take them on, on such an offer anytime. Thanks you guys! And thanx for the tips, just to see them in action was worth the expedition.

With Japie already posting the King is such glamour and Callie showing the ferociousness of it, I decided to hide my lack of shooting talent and push the cuteness factor in the red. Callie said when we arrived that a baby Cheetah was high on his wish list. We did get to see them, but they were behind a fence and we were not aloud to get out of the vehicle. I aimed for an opening and shot this one. The cub was in the setting sun and has this lovely golden glow to him. Can you spot where his mother carries him all the time? Just look at the hairs on the neck….

Anyway the cheetah has the spotlight, and yes Paul my eyes wandered and I got bugs too. It is moments like this that I wish the world was smaller so that I could spend time with some of my other TN friends in person.

Awwwww, so cute. He does look very ruffled. Welcome back from you trip Gerhard, it's a great shot, I love the gaze looking across the frame. Well done, great note.

OK, ok...let's see the bugs! :-)

Lol... was going to write "Awwwww" but have been beaten to it. He does look cute though, and he has a very thoughtful look about him! Nice photo.

I think I am getting a very dark hue of green. This is gorgeous, Gerhard. Most of mine showed only wires, and the couple I got were blurred, This is SO nice. And thanks for the day!

Oui vous avez eu une journée heureuse et c'est une bien belle photo que vous avez chassez là. Merci de partager.

Yes you had a happy day and it is a quite beautiful photograph which you have drive out there. Thank you for sharing those moments with us.

I already told your hunting friends how happy I was you enjoyed yourselves, but the best of this hobby is that you can bring your joy to TN, and share with us. This is a wonderful photo, and more considering the conditions. Thanks very much for this cute and warm post.

A very cute and lovely capture.
I like the spiky wet hair on its neck.
I've just called my wife over to look at this photo and she loves it and so do I!
Great work,well done.
...Looking forward to the bug shots too!

Well, you sure hit the cute-factor here Gerhard. This cub is very cute like waiting for his mom to cary him away to a safe place by the neck. Really a great shot and with a perfect background.

Very good Gerhard.
It's very cute with nice colours and good details.
Very good note.
Great work.

tres jolie ce jeune a l'allure rebel,
il a dejas l'oeil vif et ce regard qui semble toujours fixer quelque chose et que l'on retrouve sur les sujets plus agés dejas presentés...
greet capture.

a beautiful Cheetah baby~~he nosed his head,it was just like a human's behavior! and without the heavy dark part besides his nose,i just can't tell different between it with the cats here~ they are both lovely
and the hair of the baby was expressed subdued by your skill,

Ante todo, una excelente nota... ademas de una foto muy bella.
Perfil adorable de este felino tan bonito. con excelente DOF y buena agudeza... solo un detalle, si lo ves nuevamente, puedes obsequiarle un peine de mi parte.

First of all, an excellent note... in addition to a very beautiful photo.
Adorable outline of this so pretty feline with excellent DOF and good sharpness... only a detail, if you see it again, you can give away a comb to him of my part.

Great image, Gerhard. One can see that he(she) is still being cared for by the mother. Very cute. Great note.

Hi, wonderful story, wonderful CUTE little babe!!!!

looks like a wild one here, the wildest of the other ones posts :o)
just out of bed look i gues!
good shot, nice colour and good detail.
welll done!

Very cute-looking profile of the little cheetah, Gerhard. The hair standing out from behind the neck is priceless, and just the whole portrait with the details of the coat and the alert look is really precious. Great shot.

Thanks for dropping by one of my TE posts recently. Like I'm saying in my TN intro, I hope to be back when I have some more of the time that I currently don't :-(
