Very shapely Fungus, Laurens.
The colours too are beautiful.
The various shapes look almost three dimensional.
Superb image.

Hallo Lou,
Prachtige foto in erg mooi licht. Daardoor schitterende kleuren. Uitstekende scherpte en compositie. Wat een vreemde Nederlandse naam.
Groet,
Peter

Hi Lou,
Absolutely brilliant shot(s). Fantastic usage of lights, great composition and nice details. But the current name of the species is Rutstroemia firma (Pers.) P. Karst., and the "family" you mentioned (Ascomycetes) is the kingdom itself. If you need the family level, name is Rutstroemiaceae. Congratulations for showing this species on TN and for the high quality photoset.
Best regards, László

Hi Laurens, Very special type of fungi specie. Splendid nights and nice tones. The light reflections on the soil are very natural and they framed the fungi perfectly. Fantastic POV and composition.
Thank for sharing
