This is another insect from our garden. Personally I think this is one of the most beautiful beetles we have in Belgium.
The Latin name of this beauty is Trichius fasciatus and the plant is a Dipsacus fullonum.

You are right, it is a beautiful insect and the plant is beautiful too. I am glad you did not increase the colors in postprocessing, it is easy to have the temptation with a colourful shot like this one, it looks natural.

This beetle does look like it's name...scarab. I wonder if the jewelry was named after this lovely beetle. Great shot, Hans. That 180mm macro lens is truly a thing of beauty in your competent hands. The detail on the flower is amazing.
