[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
These days, I'm vacationing with my son in the Delhi Capital Region (Gurgaon). I intend to shoot some birds in the nearby Sultanpur Bird Sanctuary in the coming days before my return to Jammu. Today afternoon, my wife and I went visiting a friend a few kilometers away from our residence. Her house is located in a kind of valley in the Aravalli Hills. When we reached there, I noticed that a little swamp has been created near her house in which some water birds were busy doing their usual things. I immediately went to it with my camera and was disappointed to realize that the only way I could try a few shots would be against the evening sun which was hazy and dull. All the same, I gave it a try and took pictures of the birds that looked to me like ducks, moorhens, waders and others. ( I have a poor knowledge and experience of shooting water birds.) After returning home from our friend's place, I immediately took to editing the shoot and was really dismayed to notice that most of the 30 odd pictures were very poor in quality, mainly owing to bad light conditions. Anyway, I edited a couple of them and I'm posting one of them tonight. A bit of research suggested that the bird with long red legs could be a Black-winged Stilt and I'm making a tentative note with the assumption that I might be right in my identification. All the same, advice from experts is welcome.

The Black-winged Stilt, Common Stilt, or Pied Stilt (Himantopus himantopus) is a widely distributed very long-legged wader in the avocet and stilt family (Recurvirostridae). Opinions differ as to whether the birds treated under the scientific name H. himantopus ought to be treated as a single species and if not, how many species to recognize. The scientific name Himantopus comes from the Greek meaning "strap foot" or "thong foot". Most sources today accept 24 species.
