Happy New Year to all of You...

White Browed Wagtail (Motacilla maderaspatensis) is the largest member of the Wagtail family, found in most of India and Endemic in this range. It is of course a resident breeder, inhabiting small water bodies.

The fact that they have adapted to the urban environments and degraded habitats is reflected in this picture. This is from a river habitat down river from the city and hence degrading over the years, but it still attracts lot of resident and migratory birds though in lower numbers.

The protruding portion of the tire in water, though jarring to us in a natural ecosystem, but a fact of life for these birds provided a good enough perch for this Wagtail for reflection.

Hallo Himanshu
What a lovely scene. Just like it should be in nature, no posing, no pretence. It is realy a great shot ! The bird is so nice and the reflection on calm water is perfect. The natural sunlight is also wonderful as part of this scene. Best regards and thanks for sharing.

Hello Himanshu,
A lovely and interesting bird. Remarkable photo with exceptional clarity and details. This is a very nice species of bird. Nice photo taken with good light and best clarity.
The water is polluted with a auto tire.....unfortunately is a common situation also in my country....
Thanks for sharing!
Marius.

In effect the support of the wagtail is an example of pollution of this area,i hope that the things will change but i know that will be very difficult, the pic is very very nice, great details, colors and reflections,i like it! Have a nice weekend and thanks,Luciano

Hi Himanshu,
Interesting Photos for thought. Nice bird in nice colours
and good details.
Regards Jiri.

Hi Himanshu,

This is a very attractive species for sure. I think your photos are usually in a good quality. You might increase the contrast and we can see the results if much better or not. However more important thing is, on TN i saw photos from zoos or animals from captivity but this one is out in the nature which makes it unique and the value of this is higher.

I think this one is still a lifer for me :)

Best,
Emin
