[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Mount Nanda Devi shot from Kausani during early morning hours from Kausani. The prominent peak on the left side is Nanda Devi. Small peak jetting out in centre is Mt Nanda Devi (East) followed by Mount Nanda Khat.

Nanda Devi (Hindi: नन्दा देवी पर्वत) is the second highest mountain in India (23rd in the world) and the highest entirely within the country (Mt Kangchenjunga being on the border of India and Nepal); owing to this geography it was considered the highest known mountain in the world until computations on Dhaulagiri by western surveyors in 1808. It was also the highest mountain in India before Sikkim joined the Indian Union.

Nanda Devi is a two-peaked massif, forming a 2 kilometres (1.2 mi) long high ridge, oriented east-west. The west summit is higher, and the eastern summit is called Nanda Devi East. Together the peaks are referred to as the twin peaks of the goddess Nanda.

Hallo Subhash
Great view my friend! A wonderful perspective and a perfect capture from a excellent point of view. I very much like the shadows and light in the same frame. Best regards and thanks for sharing.

Hi Subhash, Great mountain scenery with nice natural colours. The shades and the sunlight on the mountains are strongly reflected each other. The crop is little bit tight but it is still a great shot of mountains. Thank for sharing and Happy New Year

Hello Subhash,
What a magnificent view. Splendid light and beautiful colours in this great photo. Nice layers in the foreground too.

Distant but very interesting view of Nanda Devi from Kausani, Subhash. I like the contrasts in this picture which you must have taken in the mellow morning/evening light.
Thanks and regards.
