I had shot a number of fairly good pictures of a Peacock Pansy in August '12 and had uploaded just a few of them then. Today I visited my archives and couldn't resist posting another one. Hope you like it.

The Peacock Pansy (Junonia almana) is a species of nymphalid butterfly found in South Asia. It exists in two distinct adult forms, which differ chiefly in the patterns on the underside of the wings; the dry-season form has few markings, while the wet-season form has additional eyespots and lines.

Distribution

J. almana is found in India and South East Asia, and eastwards to China and Japan.

Great detail focus on almana junonia. Structured composition of two colors, the green and orange (butterfly and flowers).
Colorful background with these colors.
Beautiful work.

Hello Ram,

Hope life is good at the school campus with the wildlife. This is a flawless, elegant shot of this wonderful butterfly of our region. Quite a temptation it is for the photographers like us and every time we come across it we cannot resist taking a shot. Thanks a lot for sharing a clean, beautiful shot of this lovely lady of our land. take care.

warm regards/Abid

Hello Ram!
Beautiful shot of this lovely butterfly in sharp, vivid colors. Color contrast is very good; i loved the details, colors and pattern on wings. Thanks for sharing this lovely composition. One of the antennae/tentacles seems missing which would have added more beauty to the shot,
Best Regards,
AKBAR

Hi Ram,another top class capture of a butterfly,a magnificent pansy that i seen in me too in Cuba, great details and a very bright orange,i like it! Have a nice day and thanks,Luciano

Hello Sir,
Yes it is a common butterfly, but you present it beautifully.
Good colour and sharpness.
Regards,
Samiran

Dear Ram,
a nicely composed, well detailed and lively presentation of the Peacock Pansy, its bright colours well matching with the blossoms it is visiting - probably the pretty and omnipresent marigold. Doesn't seem to be handicapped by one antenna missing, enjoying its life. A picture that sends joy and good vibrations. Thank you my dear friend.
With best regards,
Peter
