Hello Peter,
I used to see red-vented bulbul but this yellow-vented bulbul you have captured very well.

The best image of a Crested Himalayan Bulbul I've seen here on TN, Peter. I have taken pictures of this bird on several occasions, but I've not been even close to what I see in your picture in terms of sharpness, clarity and original colours.
The blurred Dhauladhar in the BG makes this image so very authentic.
Way back in March 2009, you had written in your critique on my picture of this bird that you longed to hear its call; happy to know that your wish was fulfilled!
Thanks for sharing this picture of a bird I've known from my childhood.
Regards.
Ram

Lieber Peter,
Anne

Hello Peter
Excellent photo of the Himalayan Bulbul, fine POV obtaining the lovely eye-contact
with the head turned, the good free space where he looks and being framed
diagonally in the image it adds dynamism to the photo, very beautiful lateral light,
excellent focus, sharpness, and details, and the catch-light render the photo always
more beautiful, your Altered Image #1 of the Himalayan Bulbul is also beautiful, TFS

Hi, dear Peter.
It is not a butterfly definitely :). However I am impressed with the shot a lot. Pictured bird is very cute, its pose and glance are very attractive and details are stunning. A bit blurred large cloud decorate the scene so much. I like this your technique at close-ups and now at bird shooting. Warm regards and TFS.
Alexei.
P.S. I am very pleased with your interest for my pictured. Thanks so much.

Hello Peter,
The way it's crest stands up in the wind reminds me of our Northern Cardinal. A beautifully marked bird and captured perfectly by your lens, the White Cheeked Bulbul certainly gave you it's best pose. Wonderful eye contact with that ever sought after catchlight. Well done!!

Hi Peter,
Truly beautiful shot with very interesting pose. Pleasant composition with awesome technicality, and the pic itself is simple enough to be spectacular! Gorgeous image, and the workshop photo with different hairstyle is amazing, too. Remarkable post. Bravo!
Best regards, László

Hi Peter
In the thumbnail the bird seems to have horns.
Not colorful plumage but interesting crest and eye contact.
