[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Hi all,

The Malabar Pied Hornbill is a common resident breeder in tropical and subtropical Asia from India east to Borneo. Its habitat is evergreen and moist deciduous forests, often near human settlements.

I saw this event at Dandeli , which is a small town in western ghats of India. The local guide was telling us that these birds come to a certain place for mud bath and we visited that place , after patiently waiting for couple of hours , we were privileged to witness this event and capture some decent shots, this is one of them.

I used spot metering to take the reading on the white dust so that i could get this effect. I hope you ppl will like this

Thanks for sharing,
Regards and have a nice time,

Excellent photo. I like the way you explain how you got it: asking a local guide, waiting patiently, and then working out the best technique to use. Not often do we see these sort of details, so we can learn from your experience.
