[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The Shikra (Accipiter badius) is a small bird of prey in the family Accipitridae found widely distributed in Asia and Africa where it is also called the Little Banded Goshawk.

This one was hunting birds in a big tree just beside our guesthouse. So I had several occasions so see it and try to take pictures.

Hello Pierre,
Excellent photo of this Shikra. Not easy to get so much details in its chest despite the terrible light. Beautiful natural colours in a fine composition.
Have a nice weekend,
Peter

Hello Pierre,

Hope you are doing fine. This is a really well-taken and wonderful shot of this common hawk of our region which is popularly called shikra. It is sitting on a banyan tree perhaps or a pipal and looks lovely. These are agile predators and excel in stealth attack in a wooded area. Thanks a lot for sharing a superb shot, take care,

warm regards/Abid

Hello Pierre,
A wonderful shot of this beautiful Shikra in a relaxed pose. It reminds me of the way our Coopers Hawks sit near the bird feeder, just waiting for an unsuspecting meal to drop by.
Excellent eye contact and displaying exceptional detail. It is not easy to get close to birds of prey such as this, here in Ohio. Great capture!!
Ron
