Pulsatilla vulgaris, Pasque flower ou Anémone pulsatille observée sur sur l'une des pelouses sèches de La Côte à la Manche.

"Vivace, basse, velue. Feuilles bipennées, plumeuses, couvertes de longs poils. Fleurs grandes, violettes, en cloche de 50-80 mm, dressées, puis inclinées anthères jaune vif ; floraison de mars à mai. Fruit à longues plumes soyeuses, persistant parfois jusqu’à la fin de l’été. Prés secs sur calcaire."

An extremely well presented crocus [family] flower.
Great notes.
It's quite cold here in Calgary Alberta Canada; hence, our wild flowers are still fast asleep.

Hello Gerard,
What a beautiful looking flowering plant you have photographed. I realy like it's deep purple petals and bright orange stamen. The stems and back side of it's petals appear quite unique with their covering of tiny hair-like filaments. Perfectly captured while displaying exceptional detail and vivid yet natural colors. Great work!!
