Hello Paul,
This is the same species of bird that I was talking about. The nest was on the left side of the trail as you headed towards the beach. The day I was at Manuel Antonio National Park was June 30th. of 2012.
This is a fantastic shot showing in exceptional detail the unique features and brilliant colors of this gorgeous bird. The ones I tried to photograph stayed very high in the trees and didn't give me any decent looks.

Should i do that? Costa Rica is on my 2015 bird destinations list however this is my feeling right after your amazing photo!
