Nyala / Tragelaphus angasii

Due to other responsibilities and lack of time, it is more than a months since I have done my previous posting. I really miss the interaction with fellow members as well as all the beautiful images that passes me by, without me seeing them. I am going to try my best to upload a bit more often as I have such a wonderful selection of photos that I can share with you and in October we will be touring through South Africa, visiting 8 of the 9 provinces and I am sure I will come back with 100's of lovely images of my beautiful country.

I have posted images of this attractive buck before and therefore thought if would be unnecessary to repeat all the information given at the previous postings.

This image was taken at the Bhejani hide in the iMfolozi Game Park. Personally, I feel that the atmosphere captured here is one of innocence and tranquillity, and that of a special bond between the 3 Nyala females while drinking water. I thought that these three where the perfect models and was just being themselves and part of nature just as it should be. Everything in this image seemed just right and all of them appeared to be very relaxed and at ease at the moment I took this picture.

I hope you enjoy looking at this photo as much as I took pleasure in taking it.

Hello Anna!
A very good quality shot of this beautiful Antelope family. With their heads down at the same time, you clicked well in time. White vertical lines over their bodies are very attractive to look at. Brown/Orange looks a little over saturated but i might be wrong regarding their original color. Well done and thanks for sharing this great work,
Best Regards,

Hi Anna. These Nyala females look like they'r moving fast because of the white stripes on them. It's a neat illusion. I'm almost dizzy looking at them. LOL I'm glad they're in a moment of tranquility drinking. It's a special scene. TFS Trevor

Hello Anna,
What a beautiful trio of Nyala antelope you have presented to us. They seem to have lined up perfectly for you, from the biggest to the smallest in single file. Their orangish colored striped coats are certainly a stunning sight to behold. They look as if they all leaned up against a freshly painted white picket fence:) Great shot!!

Outstanding image with super sharp detail and perfect exposure.Well detailed and beautiful

I missed so much your work! That wonderful picture: Opportunity; sharpness; Splendid light; minimalist composition; a beautiful animal species multiplied three ... Also, the square format; how well you use; where the "empty" spaces (they are not really ...) are full of natural meaning (as it costs me, personally, keep reformatting spaces and not cut them, somehow, the reality ...
Thanks for coming back.

An Argentine friend.

PS: Is it really "Africa yours";)

Hi Anna.
It is really a pleasure to watch this scene and so high quality image. Amazing POV, cropping of the scene, superb colours and details. I also like combination of sunlight across the almost whole scene and piece of shadows at the BG. Great job and my compliments.

Hi Anna
What a lovely image. Your timing was great to capture the right moment. The orange-brown colour of the Nyala females are very true to nature. Overall a lovely composition with nice sharp detail.
Thanks for sharing.

You caught a lovely composition here as well as a technically perfect picture. The way the stripes blend in makes it look almost like one multi-headed animal.

Hi Anna,
Very attractive photo, immediately caught the attention of a viewer who has never seen this animal before - me. Not only because it's an interesting mammal with vertical lines on their fur, but also as the photo is excellent, too. First of all the composition's great with the thirsty animals in the front, while there's a shady area in the background. Plus I love your white balance and the color contrast you created between the mammals and the dry steppe. Spectacular shot, one of the best ones I comment today. Congrats for the beautiful photo!
Hopefully both you and Loot will fully return to TN once and will again share such fantastic images as this one. Kind regards from Ireland, László

Hi Ms. Anna,

I find this shot very attractive that it catches my eyes while roaming the gallery. Excellent color and composition, the color of the subjects are greatly emphasized by the background, and to think this is only captured by a point and shot cam. Such an inspiration and a Great work!
