Hello friends, it is from my winter 2013 archives,
photo shot with my little rugged compact camera
so don't expect DSLR image quality !

1/400s f/5.6 ISO100 13.47mm (35mm eq:74mm).

« Hairy Woodpeckers are birds of mature forests
across the continent. They’re also found in woodlots,
suburbs, parks, and cemeteries, as well as forest edges,
open woodlands of oak and pine, recently burned forests,
and stands infested by bark beetles. »

Hi Asbed,in effect the quality is not the best as usual, but still good for a pic made with a compact camera, trembled background but excellent sharpness on the woodpecker.Have a nice day and thanks,Luciano

Hello Asbed - To me it's always a difficult task to capture a flying bird. I like your flying Woodpecker picture. Your focus was nice on its eye. Perfect natural color and BG as usual trademark of "Asbed". Thanks for sharing. Regards - Srikumar

Hello Asbed,
Nice photo taken in harsh conditions. Excellent contrast and superb natural colors of this nice woodpecker in flight.
Thanks for sharing!

Hello Asbed,
It has been a while since I saw your flight pictures. As usual, very charming,

Amazing in-flight capture - tremendous sense of speed, and you panned the shot beautifully to capture the bird extremely sharply.

Ciao Asbed, I missed this one, you are the king of in-flight birds, an other great capture, perfect focus, excellent clarity, splendid light and wonderful colors, very well done, my friend, ciao Silvio

Bonjour Asbed,

Les arbres aident au cadrage de l'oiseau. La prise de vue permet de voir les détails du pic chevelu en vol. La bonne luminosité fait ressortir les couleurs. Bonne journée.

Hi Asbed,
I can only particularly share the exultant opinions above mine. It's true your lights are gorgeous, colors are good, busy background's well blurred - but 1/400 was visibly too slow to shoot a useful in-flight photo with acceptable sharpness on the bird. And this is not a DSLR vs. compact issue, the shutter speed was simply not fast enough to make a clear capture. This is the point - but knowing some of your other photos we see you're capable of doing that. So I'm sure even with the compact, your next series will be aesthetically better. Good luck!
Best regards, László
