[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
The Featherflowers (Verticordia) are endemic from Australia, most of them found only in the South West of Western Australia. The genus of about 100 species belongs to the same family as the Eucalypts. They are mostly small shrubs, with small bright flowers.
The species here is Verticordia staminosa - Wongan Hills, a Threatened Flora species under the WA Wildlife Conservation Act.
This particular planted specimen was photographed at the headquarters of the Eastern Hills Branch of the WA Wildflower Society. |
