Hello friends, today I did my first Nature Photos outing
of 2016, the light was bad, it is the only good action photo
that I did, the Eastern Gray Squirrel in his jumping action from the
tree branch, we can see the snow dust from where he did his jump.

1/1250s f/5.6 ISO1600 85mm (35mm eq:127mm).

From Canadian Wildlife federation website :

http://cwf-fcf.org/en/discover-wildlife/flora-fauna/fauna/mammals/eastern-grey-squirrel.html

« Eastern grey squirrels commonly occur in two
colour phases, grey and black, which leads people
to think—mistakenly—that there are two different species.

The most notable physical feature of the eastern grey squirrel
is its large bushy tail. The tail has many important functions
It acts as a rudder when the animal jumps from high places,
as a warm covering during the winter, as a signal to other
eastern grey squirrels indicating an individual’s mood. »

Merci.

Asbed

Hello Asbed
Those squirrels are had to capture, they seem to always be on the run. A cute little critter for sure. Love the colour and textures of the forest, including mister Squirrel.

Hello Asbed,
Nice photo of this jumping squirrel. Beautiful colors and excellent sharp focus on the squirrel, not easy with all these branches.
Regards,
Peter
