|This is probably the most common orchid in Israel. It shows a great variability in size and color. It is quite similar to the European Orchis papilionaceae. The flowers of this specimen is rather large, with a labellum over 1 cm long. The WS shows a close-up of one of the flowers and the entire plant.|
Note the similarity to the hybrid I showed three days ago.

A common yet gorgeous orchid from your part of the globe. The entire group of blooms are in sharp focus due to your incredible f/51 aperture. Rich vivid colors and just the right amount of exposure combine to make this an eye catching image.
It's hard to believe such a beautiful orchid is quite common. The colour is stunning including the detail and lighting.
