I had to change the actual size of this image to fit the criteria the site accepts, so it is a slight different than it appears here. This image is as close to what I had hoped to capture of any of the images I took the morning I visited the site Saturday.
Mt. Hood's name in Chinookan, Native American Language is Wy-East. The Great Spirit of the peoples that lived and prospered along the Columbia River, (En che Wauna) before they were taken from their lands and placed onto reservations in the latter years of the 1800's after the Indian Wars.

Hello Steven,
What a big difference a little orange sunrise color makes. I can now see why you wanted to capture this lovely scene so badly. The contrasting snow against a gorgeous light blue sky and just a hint of orange makes for a breathtaking image.
