I have captured this 'Reed Cormorant' (Microcarbo Africanus) at Rondebult Bird Sanctuary. It was sunny day and this bird was sitting on the top of a tree branch. I could easily removed lower branch using cloning tool but to me it's important here for composition. So I kept.

The Reed Cormorant, also know as 'Long Tailed Cormorant' is a bird in the cormorant family "Phalacrocoracidae".

* Length - 50-55 cm
* Wingspan - 85 cm
* Colour - Mainly black, glossed green in the breeding season. Wing covers are silvery.
* Bill - Yellow
* Eyes - Red

Hi Srikumar,

The branch is helping to frame the bird. The point of view is showing the details of the Reed Cormorant. It is clear and precise. The good luminosity is making the colors to stand out. Have a nice day.

Hello Srikumar,
A wonderful shot of this Reed Cormorant in an attractive pose. I really like the way you were able to capture it from a rear position with its head turned making great eye contact. Those fiery eyes immediately draw your attention and the detail in its plumage is excellent. You made the right choice in leaving the lower branch in my opinion, its adds a bit of character.

Hi my friend,

Excellent portrait of the cormorant, I like very much this bird.
They are great divers and swimmers,
for once it does not have wings deployed.
Grea texture of the plumage, TFS.

Hi Srikumar
Slightly different to the cormorants that I see in my country. Interesting plumage and sharp details.
