Little Grebe (Breeding Plumage)
|[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note|
|I have captured this picture at Rondebult Bird Sanctuary. Early morning we reached there and we were lucky there were not any people except my wife and I. I took this picture from a hide and which was a bit high from water surface. So to take a decent picture with its reflection I wanted this Grebe little bit far, otherwise I had to capture it keeping my lens face down towards water which I don't like.|
The Little Grebe (Tachybaptus ruficollis) is a small water bird. 23-29 cm length this bird commonly found open bodies of water. If you look carefully you can see it has a pointed bill. Here it's in its breeding plumage, so its neck is Rofous in colour. But in non-breeding time it looks like dirty brown grey.

Fine little creature, good sharpness and eye contact, nice reflexions thank you for the notes.
Congratulation for this outstanding capture. Very sharp image and with perfect focus as usual. I like the natural colors and the low POV in which you shoot this photo. Nice details of the feathers.

What a neat image of this beautiful grebe. The ones I see here in Ohio are not nearly as colorful. I really like the red patch on the side of its cheek as well as the white marking just below the eye. Very sharp focus and clear as a bell. Great eye contact wit a tad bit of catchlight. The blue water is lovely and the reflection is the icing on the cake. Well done!!
I like the reflections on the water. The point of view is showing the details of the Little Grebe. The good luminosity is bringing out the beauty of the colours. Have a nice day.
