|[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note|
|I have captured this picture of "Black Crake" (Amaurornis flavirostra) at Marievale Bird Sanctuary. It was a cloudy day and light wasn't such good in the bush area. I saw this bird collecting insect from water as well as ground, but it was very fast. It was hiding itself in the bush just even the clicking sound of shutter button. At least I captured a few picture of this beautiful species after long waiting beside the bush; almost lying on ground. Nice experience to capture such shy, quick moving bird and this experience will help me in future too.|
It would have been nice if I could give more space in the foreground than back ground. But I didn't get its reflection, so I didn't give. I gave bit more space in the back ground to show the bush, where this shy bird was hiding most of the time, just next to the water level.
The Black Crake is a water bird in the rail and crake family Rallidae. It breeds in most sub-Saharan Africa except in very arid areas.
* Length - 19-23 cm; Short tail and long toe.
* Colour - Black plumage with brown olive tone on the wings.
* Eyes, Legs and Feet - Red
* Bill - Yellow

A wonderful close-up shot of this beautiful Black Crake. The focus is sharp, allowing us to view its unique features and colors in fine detail. The bright red eye and chartreuse beak immediately captures your attention.
I like the low POV which makes you feel as though you are right down there in the marsh with it.
