[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I have captured this picture of 'Glossy Ibis' (Plegadis falcinellus) at Marievale Bird Sanctuary.

It was cloudy and windy day and we reached early in the morning. Wind was so strong that you could see iton water surface. This picture was taken from a hide and bird was far. You could see not much light on its wing. So used high ISO. If you carefully notice you could see a drop of water from its beak I captured without knowing,and it's just very very close to water surface. Beautiful bird, mainly like its feathers color, but difficult to get clear view of its facial portion due to its color. I have done my best in such gloomy weather and I'm happy to add a new species in my own gallery.

Excellent photo in a great composition. Good sharpness but I think the colors are a bit over-saturated, specially when I read your note. But it all looks gorgeous.

Fantastic job of photographing this lovely bird in such low light. Amazing colors and perfect exposure. I would be absolutely thrilled to be able to capture such a fine image. Very impressive!!!

Beautiful. In fact the gloomy weather gives a surreal background and peps up the color of the bird.

Very nice capture of the glossy ibis the colors and Iridescence are beautiful attributes of this strange looking bird.

Hello Sri – Impressive picture of this Plegadis falcinellus. Excellent view showing us all the details of the bird. Colours from the bird properly caught. Very good details of the feathers. I’m not with the system of points in general; nevertheless if I have a note to deliver to this photography I would have given 3+++.

Technical achievement

• Excellent focus on the whole bird
• Perfect exposure with an appropriate choice of aperture/speed and iso
• Perfect depth of field and sharpness
• Good contrast
• Excellent sharpness showing all the details of the feathers from the body and from the wings
• Precise white balance and exact colour rendering
• Good post processing without any excess
• Good background blur, making the Ibis very visible.

Impact

• Interesting picture showing the bird inside the swamp; very good capture.
• Efficient framing and composition with an appropriate disposition of the subject in the middle of the frame. I appreciate the dynamic composition with the bird and the vegetation.
