Agamid lizard, AKA Garden fence lizard, Crested tree lizard, etc, Calotes versicolor (Daudin 1802). According the Ni,k V Cole, A Field Guide to the Reptiles and Amphibians of Mauritius pp 49-50, an Asian lizard deliberately introduced to Mauritius from Reunion about AD 1900.

This one, in our garden this afternoon, kept unusually still for a few moments before it fled up the tree.

Hello Geoffrey,
A beautiful lizard with attractive markings and an unusually long tail.
It is always a challenge when trying to compose shots of these long tailed reptiles. This particular specimen made it easy for you as it posed on the tree while letting it tail dangle directly below it. A nice vertical composition was used to get the entire body into the frame. Great focus and just the right amount of exposure.

Hi Geoffrey,a beautiful capture of this lizard,i like the position on the top of the body to show us completely the long long tail too, very good sharpness and exposure. Have a nice day and thanks,Luciano
