Violate-Backed Starling (Male)
|[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note|
|I have captured this colourful 'Violate-Backed Starling' (Cinnyricinclus leucogaster) in Kruger National Park early in the morning, just after sunrise.|
It's a male one and female is totally different in colour and quite similar to ground thrush; and not such attractive in colour comparing with this male one. I noticed this species movement is very fast and don't sit at a place long time. So it wasn't such easy shot to me but I'm happy to see this beautiful bird in our Rest Camp area.

Hi Srikumar. I thought to a oversaturation of your pic before to watch others of this specie on the web,so i must to change my opinion. Absolutely beautiful despite the dark light,a very interesting bird in an excellent capture,i like it! Have a nice weekend and thanks,Luciano

I too had to look this bird up on the web to see if the colors were true, which they certainly are. Simply stunning specimen, one of the prettiest I've seen in quite some time!!
You were not only fortunate to have seen it, but you also captured it very well through your lens. The pose gives us a great look at its gorgeous plumage and you made wonderful eye contact with a bit of catchlight visible. Well done!!

Hola Srikumar; un ave impresionante que no conocía, sus colores son irreales y fantásticos, gracias por compartir...
The branch is framing well the bird. The point of view is showing the details of the Violate-Backed Starling. The good luminosity is enhancing the beauty of the colours. Have a nice day.
