Nesting on a ledge above the ocean.

Rock dove, Columba livia, on the cliffs by the lighthouse at Albion on the west coast of Mauritius. According to Claude Michel, Birds of Mauritius, page 32, these are descended from escapees in the French period.

Hello Geoffrey,
Pigeons and doves have been my all time favorite birds since childhood. How neat to finally see these beautiful rock doves nesting in their natural (wild) habitat and not in the city. What is interesting to me is that we can clearly see how simply made their nest is, in typical pigeon fashion. Wonderful composition to show these four birds at home on the rock cliff. This shot makes my day!!

Sorry Geoffrey, being a learner in photography here I prefer more shutter speed then aperture like Exposure: f/4.0, 1/250 seconds, as the birds moves more.
