The wonders of Costa Rica:
The Great Curassow (Crax rubra; El hocofaisán; Hokko. Cracidae. Galliformes) is a large, 4 kg, "pheasant-like bird from the Neotropical rainforests, its range extending from eastern Mexico, through Central America to western Colombia and northwestern Ecuador" (Wikipedia). The bird (here a male) forages on the forest ground but readily withdraws into the canopy. It builds a nest in trees. The song of a Great Curassow is a low booming sound. Listen to it on www.xeno-canto.org/6775.The sound may be enhanced through the branch on which the bird sits.
Technicals: 1/125 sec, f/4, tele 400 mm equiv., ISO 6400 (it's in a forest)

Hello 👋 Dietrich,
Beautiful bird 🐦 and quite well captured in such unfriendly location. Details look good and well focus on its eye ☺. That twig bit disturbing although, but Not such.
Thanks for sharing your work with us 😊
