Wadi Rom

[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Nature in Jordan:
The giant Wadi Rom and the adjoining Nafud desert in Saudi Arabia are not completely dry in summer. You can see how water seeps out between rock layers of different permeability, usually between sandstone and granite or basalt. The source shown here is Ain Shallaleh. The water explains the presence of nomads for many thousand years and also the survival of Moses and his flock for 40 years "in the desert". There is no need to tap the rock with a stick for water. The water comes from occasional humidity and rain that blows in from the Mediterranean Sea. |

Hello Dietrich,
Thank you very much for your NOTE,again. Well captured picture although bit flat due to lack of solid composition and focusing point, IMHO. Good details and colors. Landscape looks better from a distance to me.
Thanks for sharing,
Regards and keep shooting,
Srikumar
