Amanita Muscaria.
Commonly known as the fly agaric or fly amanita.
Native to the temperate regions of the N Hemisphere. It has, however been unintensionaly introduced to many countries in the S Hemisphere , generally as a symbiont with pine and birch plantations.
Although classed as poisonous , reports of human deaths resulting from ingestion are rare.
Amanita muscaria is noted for its hallucinogenic properties.
This image was taken in the outskirts of Turangi, NZ.

Hi Ben,
Great composition with the trio, however, I feel the image's a little bit overexposed. The scene's a bit busy with the grass-blades - it's useful to keep a scissor in the photo bag and remove at least those grass-blades which are between the subject and the lens, and may distract the overall view. I'm sure if you care about these, your next fly agaric photo will be a stunner! Good luck!
