This bird belongs to the family Turdidae and is common along the Gulf of Mexico, being also found in Central America and northern Colombia. It measures 23 to 27 cm in length and weighs 74 to 76 gr.
Its habitat are the lowlands, parks and gardens.
It is kown as "mirlo café" or "mirlo primavera" in Mexico.
