[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Large sized Bracket Fungus has grown on the base of a dried up tree on my school campus. I shot it a few days ago.

Bracket fungi, or shelf fungi, are among the many groups of fungi that compose the division Basidiomycota. Characteristically, they produce shelf- or bracket-shaped or occasionally circular fruiting bodies called conks that lie in a close planar grouping of separate or interconnected horizontal rows. Brackets can range from only a single row of a few caps, to dozens of rows of caps that can weigh several hundred pounds. They are mainly found on trees (living and dead) and coarse woody debris, and may resemble mushrooms.

Hi Ram,
Presumably Ganoderma resinaceum Boud., or something else very closed to it. You can find a useful study about Ganoderma species in India here: https://www.researchgate.net/publication/216521482_Taxonomy_and_Diversity_of_Ganoderma_from_the_Western_parts_of_Maharashtra_India
Kind regards from Ireland, László
