The lower parts show a faint pattern on the front wings, while on the rear parts a camouflage texture is highlighted by light gray and dark shades. Black apical spot pupilata of white between the first and the second median nervation and another similar between the first and the second cubital. Rear with more or less extensive greyish veiling. A black ocellated spot between the two large ribs,

Female: similar to the male, but larger and free of androcons. Color tending to yellowish, generally larger ocellated spots, less extensive greyish nuance. Marginal border of blackish color.

I like this a bit to the left to avoid the pink flower also a bit lower that looks more space on TOP but Customers and viewers are not always right, well shot.

Hallo Silvio,
Very nice shot of this beautiful butterfly.

Hi Silvio,

This is a beautiful composition. The point of view is showing the details of the Hipparchia semele butterfly and of the flower. The light is bringing out the colors. Have a nice day.

Excellent photo Silvio. This butterfly begins to appear here at the same time that this plant begins to flower. The combination is perfect between the hipparchia and the flower.
Congratulations and thank you for sharing.

Hi Silvio,
Interesting shot again with perfect shharpness. Great composition, too, however I can imagine a bit tighter crop at right, and also at the top. Minimal, but truly just a slight, green overcast, which can be easily detectable on the white flower and on the butterfly wings, too. Anyway, these are just minor errors, the image is spectacular, thanks for sharing.
Kind regards from Ireland, László
