Greg,

The composition of this picture is simply amazing with the blue color of the grasshopper degrading to lighter color seems to follow the color of the plant.

I love the blue in the thistle and the almost matching blue on the head of the grasshopper.

Interesting shot Greg. It would be good to know how or what you did to create this blue cast across the head & thorax of the Melanoplus differentialis. Very good sharpness, detail, POV and DOF. The thistle makes an excellent roost. Well done!

I think this image is a beauty, and the colours are incredible, but I would have (personally) preferred a lot more space at the top of the image. Room for the other thistle at least.
Just my opinion.
That cornflower blue is amazing though, thanks for posting.

Amazing shot. Nice color and detail. Sorry for the short note, on a road trip to Florida and am on my laptop. Is that color natural, or is that some post processing? Never seen a grasshopper those colors.

Pretty amazing grasshopper. His head sesems to have changed to the same colour as the top of the flower. Excellent details and well composed.

The sharpness, details and colours are simply amazing. I wondered what a tighter crop along the left side would do, and I posted a workshop. I am not sure that it is an improvement although it seems to retain the eye more on the grasshopper.
