Identification:
Black forewing apex broad with inner edge almost straight, white medial bar strong and bordering black apex.
Wingspan: 56-58mm
Forewing length: 27-31m
Local distribution: Common on Pacific side from lowlands to 1500 m, rare on Atlantic slope down to 200 m.
Similar species: Oleria paula, Ithomia patilla, Pteronymia cotytto,

Species range: Mexico to Panama

Abundance: Common

Larval host plants:
Cestrum lanatum
Cestrum racemosum
Cestrum sp. “San Luis”

Early stages: Solitary

Beautiful shot! Incredible creature.
There was some information on this butterfly in last month's Texas Parks and Wildlife magazine. These species was recently spotted, for the first time, in Southern Texas.
