Hallo to all TN-Friends, special to them, you also have a winter-depression.
Perhaps this sunny shot will bring you into a better mood. Have a wonderful week everybody.

Here we see a Peacock:

The Peacock (Inachis io) is a well-known colourful butterfly, found in temperate Europe and Asia. It is the only member of the genus Inachis. The species is resident in much of its range, often wintering in buildings or trees. It therefore often appears quite early in spring.

The butterfly measures about 5 cm (2 in) from wingtip to wingtip and is easily identified by its striking eye pattern on a ruddy background, although with wings closed the cryptically coloured underwings make it look like a dead leaf. The eyespots are reminiscent of those on the feathers of the peacock, hence the name. They are believed to be used to frighten predators (such as birds) by creating a false perception of a another predator (note how a glance at the image can give the impression of a cat staring).

The Peacock can be found in woods, fields, meadows, pastures, parks, and gardens, and from lowlands up to 8,200 feet elevation. It is the commonest butterfly seen in parks and gardens in Europe.

Sabine....this is absolutely magnificent,
What a stunning image to post today. It'll be easier for me to say no nits whatsoever, absolute perfection.
I love it, thanks for posting.
Have a great week.

Very nice colors combinations. I saw probaby 50 posts with this butterfly, but you got one of the best of them!

Regards, Petru

Very fine art, works for me all this colours. Nice composition. Thanks for sharing. Reina

My wife is always saying that I am very "serious" with my framings, I would have never dared to use such a framing in a shot, but I must recognize it works perfectly this time.
Beautiful image, nice to get this two into DOF range. Looks just a little bit heavily postprocessed, but with this colours I it is difficult :)
We both like very much. Regards, F&C

AWESOME....Just beautiful...excellent details&colourful.

Liebe Sabine, *YOU* have nailed my state of mind!. This year winter came late, but already I am fed-up with it!
I miss the glorious colours of Spring, Summer and Fall...

The best I can do now is find iceflowers, and icediamonds that "funkel".

Thanx for sharing this glorious colourful shot. A bee and a butterfly on what to me looks like fall asters.
The details and colours are gorgeous. Tfs and putting a hopeful smile on my face! Jay

PS I need shots like this when it is Spring by the CALENDAR, but when Ole Man Winter is still ranting annd raging and refuses to go back to the North Pole...

Dear Sabine,
This old, but wonderful photo of You was featured on the main page today. You're right: what's better against winter depression than a sunny peacock shot? Magnificent lights and colors (not to mention sharpness and POV). I bookmark it as a favorite photo.
Tfs, best regards, László
