[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
There were 2 of these guys busy with this hole in a tree about 30 metres away on the slope. I deliberately cropped to keep the 3 chips of wood that are thrown out in the top right corner.
One of my first attempts to shoot in raw and then work to tiff and finally jpg. I don't know if I could have maybe got it a little sharper, but hope you like it. I was using ISO 800 to get speed, but was pleasantly surprised that there was not too much noise in the original.

Hi Tim!
Very nice composition- I love wodpeckers and with this fantastic blue sky it's interesting picture.

Hi Tim.
the compostion and colours are very nice.
The focus is soft because of the noise.
You didn't need 800ISO for this one, even with the 20D it will be a lot of noise if you crop it.
Well done.

Hi Tim,
Composition and framing are excellent. Exposure looks to be right on, as the colors are very good. As Gert stated, alittle to much noise made it soft. Did you crop into the original much to get this?
Scott

Very good ideea leaving those wood chips on the frame. Yes, it's a bit soft, but you had to use some not so usual settings.
Beautifuly done.

Regards, Petru
