Taken in the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary in Brisbane, which has highest number of koalas in the world (more than 130), as well as other Australian animals.
You can check their web site at : http://www.koala.net .

"Sometimes erroneously called "koala bear", it is not a bear but a marsupial. Koalas are most active just after sunset.

Strictly folivorous and exists almost exclusively on eucalypt leaves. Koalas seldom drink water as they obtain their water requirement from the eucalyptus leaves that are 50% water.

Koalas breed from September to March with a single young being born after a 33 to 35 day pregnancy period. The baby koala called a "joey" remains in the mother's pouch for approximately six months. Weaning occurs at one year of age.

Habitat: Eucalypt forests of eastern and south-eastern Australia."

I recommend to pay a visit to the park if you happen to be around Brisbane, it's a very nice place, specially with kids.

Awwww...super cuteness factor on this image! Nice job... Must be wonderful to see these "teddy bears" in the wild. Thanks for sharing this happy fellow!

Not until I opened this one did I realize just how good it is. Great pose, colour and composition. The lighting and detail are excellent. Very nice Jerome.

Someone who used to post on this site (and who I miss sorely) gave the Koala I posted earlier on look and said "Its a man!" and this applies here as well! Very well captured.

Thanks for posting

Very nice picture Jarome.
It's very cute, nice colours , good pose and good details.
Good note.
Welcome to TN.

Jerome, Thanx for sharing this cutie in this great pose! A bit over-exposed but shooting in bright sunlight can be difficult.. Great job!

Oy, What is he driving, and does he have a licence for using that joy-stick?
Sweet, cute and very lovely teddy you are sharing here with us, Jerome. I love it, even the bright BG frames it very well.

Hermoso y divertido retrato Jerome.
La posicion del koala y su innegable simpatía componen una imagen de buena calidad.
Tal vez existe una pequeña sobre exposicion, pero que no influye de manera importante.
Buen encuadre y perspectiva con una interesante nota complementaria.
Bienvenido a TN.

Beautiful and amused picture Jerome.
The position of koala and its undeniable affection compose an image of good quality.
Perhaps exists a small over expose, but that does not influence of important way.
Good frame and perspective with an interesting complementary note.
Welcome to TN.

hoooooo comme c'est mignon! on aurait presque envie d'y faire un gros calin!!

Great image. Great DOF. Reminds me of Yoda from StarWars, but much cuter!

Nice image and good to see someone else posting from Oz. Good detail of the entire body, not just the usual head-shot. Well done.

the composition is perfect. And the koala seems to be just waiting for the click! I like the light and contrast. Well done.
