|I had never seen this species of insect, I believe that it`s a weevil, of about 3 cm of length is holding the stem of a grasps here, but I saw to others perforate the succulent stem of serruchetas, a dicotyledone plant, with prongs to the leaves flanks . I donīt know if it made to feed itself or with another intention. I could not investigate much because it was working in therural zone and luckily I had taken my camera (Zenith xp12, lens of 58 mm and helped by the macro of the poor men: a magnifying glass). The insect seems not to be so habitual, and as it happened with others of the species that I have in my gallery (frog in a serrucheta leaf), in that year had in countless amounts, but soon its population decay at the lowest levels. In this year I have not seen anything, possibly because this year is enough dry.|

Amazing shot of summer bug. It's grey and cold all around. I hate snow and winter.

Very nice shot with good composition and great colours,
Well done and TFS!
Considering the equipment you had to work with it's a very good shot, definatly a weevil from the extended snout, but no idea what species it is sorry, not been able to name mine either.TFS
Great POV and details!
