|On the threshold's door of a building, this mante (about 8 cm long) let itself take in photograph. It was my first meeting with this insect. I don't know much about it... can't say more.|
Picture taken with the help of a flash.

Good shot! I really like the contrast of the grey background and the green mantid, and the composition is very nice too. Undecided whether I'd have preferred slightly greater DOF, and the whole leg in the shot though. I'm also curious as to what post processing you've performed - obviously it's been sharpened, but did you run NeatImage as well? Anyway well captured :-D
Welcome to TN! Good to see you posting here :)

A fine capture of this praying mantis. Colors are very nice.
Taking this picture I would have gone with the horizontal position, there by having the full view of the Mantid. The DOF. would have been set at around 5.6 having the full mantid in reasonable focus.
Well done on your effort.
Very colourful creature this one. very good sharpness/dof showing plenty of details. Interesting composition with the main subject placed far out in the corner. Did you crop it that way or is it the full frame you have posted?. There is a disturbing spot from the lowpass filter in the camera left to the rigth antenna. It could easily be removed with the clone tool in Photoshop.
I have been looking at your other posts and I think they deserve a little more attention than they get. May be if you started to comment on other peoples pictures it would help - that is the way TN works, you have to be active too and not only do posts.
