[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Whilst spending some time along the Shingwedzi river, I came across this Goliath Heron that was looking to indulge in some fish that were swimming near the low level bridge. A Grey Heron and some crocodiles were also in close proximity to this big bird and it seemed that no fish were safe on this particular day....

The fish splashing and the suprised look of the heron does it. You did well with glare too.

Hello Sheriff,

AWESOME .... I love the colours and clarity of the Heron. Great POV. Can not wait for the next pic ..... :-) ZM

Sure is a monster with a proud stand. Sorry for the fish... Well captured and good one getting the spash in.

Another brilliant picture!!! They say, practice makes perfect!!! Well done

I like how you've included so much environment around this bird, Sheriff. The bird is well placed in the frame, and what a bonus to get that splash in!

Hi Sheriff,
He surely looks like a focused fisherman in this shot. The light was very good here. The colors look great. Nice sharp detail. Well done!

Hi Sherrif,
it's a nice picture with some action, the heron looks like a fisherman and just wait to get the fish.
Well composed, good POV and details.
Well done.

Hi Sheriff,

This guy looks a little bemused! Well done on a great job. Nicely composed. Good colour and POV. Crisp, clear shot. Thanks.

Very good moment you captured. Great details and POV. Very good lighting too. This is a very nice composition! Well done.
Thanks for posting.

Sheriff, a lovely picture indeed.

I like dof and colors. Great pov too.

I have the feeling the shot could be a little bit sharper: I tried a workshop. Let me know what you think.

Hi Sheriff,

Excellent shot and well exposed.
The composition would be stronger with a crop from the right and with the posibility to have included the reflection.

Hi Sheriff, well done on capturing this one. I tried hard to get one of these but I missed. Very well done.

How do you keep getting the nice ones!! Pro?

Nice pose and the details are fine. I would consider to crop some of the empty space to the right but it's a personal thing. :) Well done.

And another nice shot, i think that drop on the left make the shot more intresting...how can i say? maybe more lifely?!(: anyway i thing every think is good: details, POV , DOF.
Nice nice.
well done

thanks 4 sharing

great picture. brought a smile to my face... I love the way that the heron is looking at the water splash. I love that beady eye.

I think you could have emphasised this more with a better composition/cropping taking the heron more to the right and adding a little more space to the left..

Cool bird shot. Very sharp. I wonder what was happening to the side of the bird. He seems to notice it.

Hi Sheriff,
Very nice shot, excellent colours and warm light, good detail and DOF is perfect. I'm assuming that's a fish that made the splash and I'm curious about something: Wouldn't a Croc eat this Heron given the chance?

Can't think how this shot could have been improved! Detail is excellent. No camera movement detectable is good since you must have been working without a tripod.

Nice shot, TFS.

Hi Sheriff, lovely shot of this heron. I'd crop some off the right to keep the focus on the left of the Heron where the action is (and where the heron is looking). I just love the way the heron is looking so intently at the foolhardy fish bringing attention to itself. Beautiful pose and POV and very nice technique all around. Great shot :)

Hello Sherrif,
a real suspense being created here. Great moment grabbed by you. the action is greatly felt and the frozen ripples are really outstandingly produced.
excellent composition with the background well muted and the clarity is beyond doubt.
