The Common Buzzard (Buteo buteo) is a bird of prey
from the Old World. It is typically between 51-57 cm
in length with a 110 to 130 cm wingspan, making it a
medium-sized raptor. Its range covers most of Europe
and extends into Asia. It is resident except in the
coldest parts of its range.
It breeds in woodland, but usually hunts over open
land. It eats mainly small mammals, and will come to
re-post - i ran NeatImage over it, to reduce the noise.

Good detail, color and light Thorsten. I like the composition and the over-the-shoulder pose.

I love both the clarity and quality of the buzzard in this picture, along with how you used the border to pull you into his coloring. You have managed to make a seemingly unattractive picture (just a simple buzzard on an ordinary lamp) very majestic! I never would have thought that pictures that simple, with no real background and a rather unattractive lamp, could become something like this.
