[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is only the second time I have ever gotten pictures of one of these Red Breasted Sapsuckers. He had made half a dozen holes in this alder tree and it looked like water trickling out of the holes (see the hole just to the left of the bird). Check the Workshop for another view.

Great picture Shelley!
Really cool! Excellent composition and very nice!

Brilliant view of this bird, illustrating why it has its name. And technically perfect - sharp, clear, and well exposed.

it's a nice one shelley,
the capture is very good, the details are nice and the colours are great, good in pov and a fantastic dof, very good job.

Beautiful shot Shelly, sharp details and excellent colors.

Hi Shelley

Wonderful shot. Good POV and light. Lovely depth of colour. Tack sharp with crisp, clear details. Good work. Thanks.

An excellent capture of this sapsucker, Shelley.

By itself it would have been amazing, however, the fact that you shot it while it was practicing its namesake behaviour, is really awesome.

Great job, thank you!

This shot does a great job of showing a sapsucker in action. Interesting POV. Sharp details and great light. The red on the head is beautiful. TFS. : )

A capture that the bird seems oblivious to you being close. Busy at work.superb clarity.

Nice title. Great photos with outstanding details, accurate colors and excellent exposure.

Hello Shelley,
For a reason, I just discovered your gallery yesterday and I wonder why so late? :) This is the first time I see this bird I think. This is amazing specie. I must say that I prefer the version in WS because we can see the bird better, its eye, etc, but, this one shows the bird in action and it is much interesting too. They are beautiful and very special birds. BTW, I will now know who to contact if I have problem identifying my birds :))) Thanks,
