Just as the sun was setting, I decided to grab that shot of a thirsty squirrel approaching shyly near the water. As soon as it heard the shutter, he took off ...

Fill Flash helped getting a little light on the subject.

The colours are wonderful and composition interesting. It's too bad you couldn't get all of the squirrel in the frame.

Hi Yves,

It's impressive, you showed that squirrel habits in nature, how can it drink water?:)) Reflections on the water and yellow tones are exceptional...

Congrats...

Nice shot, great colours!
I think there is a bit much fill flash around, looks a bit unnatural. but you only had one chance and you used it well.
apart from that: I'll go along with the others!

Hello Yves,

First a warm welcome to TN!

I very much like this amazing photo.

Not often does one see a squirrel in, on, or near the water like this.

Truly a golden moment, as the exceptional lighting of your shot proves...

Excellent details, colors, POV, exposure and pose.

A very fine posting, thank you for sharing it!

Hi Yves,
What a great colors and what a great moment to make the photo. It's almost as if the squirell is drinking gold. POV and DOF are great.
TFS,
Niek

Yves,
I love this. What a funny capture. I love it.

Hello Yves , Fantastic Photo ,good colours, golden water ,very nice light and pov
good job Greeting Teunie .

Very nice sgot! I like the dominance of yellow colours! Nice work, bye Tom
