Suffering birch trees
|[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note|
|De Kennemerduinen in the Netherlands has now the status of a National Park. |
The dunes where used for the procurement of water for a long time. Drinking water from the dunes was considered as water from an excellent quality. This because of the natural filtering qualities of the type of soil. The negative aspect was that the ground water was falling to an unacceptable level.
It was quite common that on some places in the dunes birche trees where growing. Birches needs a lot of water.
These birches are heavily suffering because of the strong westwind and especially of the lower water level in the dunes. Recently one decided to stop water intake from the dunes and we see now that the original vegetation is slowly coming back.

Nice photo and good composition. TFS.
Mooie foto en goed dat er weer een stuk van mooi Nederland op TN staat. Ik mis wel een kleinbeetje scherpte en kleur in deze foto.
Wat kan zomer toch mooi zijn nu de winter zo lang aanhoud.
