Hi Brendon,
wow, this is perfect, I love this phantastic bee. The eyes are impressive with all the stripes, I've never seen such a bee and I love it, thanks

Hi Brendon,
It's definitely a fly, probably a bee-fly, family Bombyliidae. These flies only pose as a bee (mimicry), but belong to the Order Diptera (True Flies).
How to differentiate flies from bees?
- only 1 pair of wings (Diptera), the bee has 2
- antennae much shorter
- longer, more spindly legs (no attachment of pollen)
Great shot with good colour and detail and great DOF. Those eyes are really something!
Regards,
Gabi
