Latin: Zygaena fausta
English: Auspicious Burnet Moth - Thanks to Gerhard.
Français: La Zygène de la bruyère
Dutch: Sint Jansvlinder

I've not much close-up material yet, but after seeing Rob's moths I remembered having photographed these insects last September, to try out my new camera, and they look like being family of Rob's ones... :o)

So my question: "Are you able to give my the name of this insects?"

Nice capture of this group of zygaena fausta - you'll have to ask Robert the English name, because I couldn't find it. You're quite right, they do ressemble the ones Rob shot, and they're moths. I have a photo of one of those as well, and I searched for the latin name which started out with zygaena (family name first with Latin names). Searched Google pics for zygaena, found one that looked like yours, its name was zygaena fausta, searched Google photos for that name, and bingo, they all look like yours ;-))

lovely capture Viviane, great colours and detail

Beautiful butterflies you captured here Viviane and yes they look very much like Roberts and as Bente allready found out they are the same family. I have search for the nama Zygaena fausta too witout finding any English sites but since you are French I found a site that might be helpful check out this one

there are some pictures and discriptions in French - I tried to make a link but may be this is not working yet or I was not clever enough.

Well Viviane Iwould agree with bente on Ident but I have no common name for it it is the only one in the group with-out a common name. Looks like the where as difficult as mine in the contrast / exposure settings.
good pose though, the whole family seems to like feeding in a group.

Baie mooi kleure. I have no clue as to ID, but these look like moths to me. The centred subject works well with the thre around the flower.

Nice shot! No common name, that's a shame, perhaps we should invent one: "Viviane's beautiful Burnet" or thereabouts ;)

I love the range of colours you've captured here, and the sharpness of the moths and flower. I might be tempted to crop it a little more tightly though to remove the slightly distracting yellow flowers from the top left. There's something slightly not quite right about the antennae on the lowest moth, the left hand one seems to have haloes around it - they're probably JPEG artifacts, but they could be the result of selective sharpening too...

Anyway, a lovely capture of some unusual moths :-D

Très belle photo, Viviane.
Les couleurs sont très agréables et la PDC met bien le sujet en valeur.
Les zygènes de Robert sont des Zygaena filipendulae, mais en anglais?

Bon travail.

Zygaena fausta = Auspicious Burnet Moth

Your great photo of this moths could not remain unnamed. I did some research and this was the only reference I got:

Nice work. Thanx for sharing.

Hi Viviane, as you may know from TE I do love colors a lot, so this one is a genuine feast for my eyes ;-) Great to see the group of these moths in different postures around the purple flower. The nice bright light and the good DOF are other strenghts of this shot. Very good one.

Gran imagen Viviane.
No creo que sea facil encontrar 3 mariposas sobre una misma flor.
Gran colorido y nitidez. Buen DOF completan una hermosa captura.

Great image Viviane.
I do not believe that it is easy to find 3 butterflies on a same flower.
Great colorful and clearness.
Good DOF completes a beautiful capture.
