Nyctea Scandiaca
Le harfang des neiges est un grand rapace diurne qui habite toutes les régions arctiques du monde. Au Canada, il niche au nord des régions boisées. Son cycle de vie est étroitement dépendant de l'abondance des lemmings, qui sont un des éléments principaux de son alimentation.
Pendant les années où la nourriture est abondante, le harfang des neiges se reproduit. Par contre, dans les années de jeûne, il n'y a pas de ponte et les oiseaux émigrent vers le sud. Ce cycle se produit tous les 4 ou 5 ans. |

Hi Stefan,
A very nice shot, good timing to catch him with his eyes open, they seem to squint most of the time. Nice detail and colours, a shame about the brick wall behind him.
