[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
There are six variaties of Larkspur that grow in the Columbia River Gorge, Meadow, Rockslide, Cliff, Upland, Nuttall's, and Poisen. I'm not positive which variety this is, but loved the bright blue star. The different kinds are all listed on Paul Slicter's web site.

I found this one on the trail to Punch Bowl Falls on the Eagle Creek Trail.

Hi Lori
The words of this song jumped to mind when I saw this blue beauty.
"Starry, Starry night.
Paint your palette blue and grey.
Look out on a summer's day..." from Vincent by Don McLean.
You nailed this one. Excellent composition & POV, splendid colours, great DOF with stunning details, fine BG, and the exposure was spot-on.
Very well done and TFS.
PS. I am sure you would have preferred it without the white specks though. Hindsight is always an exact science and armchair critiquing is oh so easy, but possibly next time you shoot a wild flower you could scrutinise it first, from up close, and ensure there are no unwanted dirt present.

Hello Lori,
A beautiful wildflower of the Gorge, very sharp and good DoF.
You might carry a small mustache brush with you or canned air for those undiscriminating specks.
Good photo.............

This blue is one of my favourite colours Lori. Borage has a similar blue - I just love the deepness and brilliance of it. And being a wild flower it must look quite stunning growing out there on your walks. TFS

Hello Lori,
A fine composition in bright shining colours!
I like the lines here, good POV and a nicely blurred background...
