This is a fantastic macro Felipe. The low perspective and sharp details makes this look like its climbing out the screen! Most excellent.

Excellent capture Felipe. What an ugly beast, I think Ellen Rpiley would say but also the ones she was fighting were much bigger. Ecellent dof showing almost every detail in its body together with very nice colours - that's the way to do it.

Very detailed shot with many color shades showing the camouflage expertise of this strange insect. Very good exposure. Your extended DOF shows well the mantis anatomic complexity. A great macro, Felipe, and a special mention for all that at 1/10sec. Thank you for the site link.

¡ Hola Felipe!

Felipe, how to get this sharpness and focus using 1/10? Excellent shot with great colors. BG and POV are also in tune with the good job you did here.
Congratulations.

These are amazing critters. We catch them here, and they sometimes "bite" us with their sharp, barbed arms. This photo has very lovely composition. It looks like you selected around it and blurred a little, which was a good choice. it added a bit of blur to places around the edges of its body, and I actually like the effect. if you did not want it, you can always but the creature on a new layer and then blur the other layer. Lookin' good!

Excellent macro, though I would have preferred a shot with the entire mantid in it.

That is an amazing shot. Not only technicaly perfect, but the subject is also very interesting. One of the best macro I've seen on TN so far. Position of the mantis is very original. Congratulations Felipe!

This is a super photo, so clear and sharp, better even than the eye, as I can't remember ever seeing such detail with my eye. The praying mantis we have here seem a much more muted green than this one. You've captured him beautifully. Well done.

Praying Mantis
From whence arrived the praying mantis?
From outer space, or lost Atlantis?
I glimpse the grim, green metal mug
That masks this pseudo-saintly bug,
Orthopterous, also carnivorous,
And faintly whisper, Lord deliver us.
—Ogden Nash, from Custard and Company
This shot illustrates the poem, or does the poem illustrate the shot? Hmmm, why not both! Tfs, Jay
