LEFT BEHIND BY THE GLACIERS
This huge rock is over 20 feet tall and 50 feet wide. Rocks left behind by the glaciers are called Glacial Erratics.

As the Glaciers headed south they carried rocks with them from way up north. Then when the glaciers started to melt and receed back to the north they left behind some very large boulders. These rocks can be found through out Alberta and probably many other provinces in Canada. Many times you will see several glacial erratics in a line.

That's quite fascinating Janice. Who says there's no rock climbing east of the Rockies? Good lighting and contrast on the rock.

Very interesting item, and very clearly photographed. If you can get a view at sunrise or sunset it would be most impressive ... ;-)

Very interesting site. Funny to see that they are both angled inwards. I feel that the photo would have been better if you had stick with the rule of thirds. I also feel a close and lower POV would have helped to give a better idea of size.

Very interesting, I had no idea what these were or that they had a name. I like the wide angle perspective to really be able to compare their size to the surroundings. I don't think they would be nearly as impressive if there were any other big rocks around them. TFS, Randy
